William graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2005 and moved to the USA, pursuing internships in small animal emergency practice and orthopaedic surgery. In 2007 he returned to Glasgow to begin residency training in small animal surgery, focusing on orthopaedics. He became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and a recognised specialist in orthopaedics in 2013. He worked in private practice for three years, then returned to the University of Glasgow in 2016. He joined Vets Now in 2021 and is interested in all aspects of bone and joint surgery, particularly the management of complicated fractures.
