Senior Receptionist – Full Time

Are you an experienced receptionist with a passion for leadership and delivering outstanding client care? Vets Now Glasgow is looking for a Senior Receptionist to lead our front-of-house team, ensuring a seamless experience for clients while supporting the wider hospital team in a fast-paced emergency and referral environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional, and compassionate welcome to clients during what can often be a stressful time.
- Ensure smooth client check-ins, handling enquiries, payments, and follow-up appointments with efficiency and empathy.
- Anticipate client needs, proactively addressing concerns and supporting them throughout their visit.
- Maintain a well-organised and welcoming reception area to reflect the high standards of care we provide.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the reception team, ensuring a seamless client journey from arrival to departure.
- Manage the waiting area, coordinating with clinical teams to keep clients informed and ensure an efficient patient flow.
- Handle client queries and concerns professionally, working towards positive resolutions.
- Maintain accurate client and patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital protocols.
- Lead and support the reception team, providing training, guidance, and motivation to deliver exceptional service.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure smooth shift handovers.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify areas for improvement, and foster a positive, client-focused culture.
- Work closely with hospital leadership to develop and enhance client service strategies.
What we are looking For
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a front-of-house or client service team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a client-focused mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure.
- Confidence in handling difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Experience in a veterinary, healthcare, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential.
- Proficiency in IT systems and administrative processes.
Working pattern
This roll is 40 hours per week and covers 5 over 7 days on a rota basis, shift times will be between 07:00 and 22:00
